Recap
Friday, March 2nd, 2007I am hoping to see some new visitors on the site today. Over the last day or so Roman of MacLife has been kind enough to ask some questions. He may be putting a small piece on his personal blog today about OurTunes and this project. Pretty damn cool.
From an earlier post:
Basically ourTunes could download anything from any shared iTunes library on a subnet (like a dorm network or a wireless network) without connecting to the internet. iTunes 7 changed the way the software connects and so ourTunes and other branches based on the old authentication system no longer work.
We here at SaveOurTunes are working to solve that problem. There are a good number of people working on this problem but we always could use more. Please spread the word and hopefully more developers can join us!
Moving your music to more than one computer or more than five computers is just one way to treat the symptom caused by the disease that is the RIAA. My guess is that Cary Sherman wants me (and you) to buy the right to play my music on more than 5 or so number of computers. OurTunes made that really easy. No shared folders, no looking for duplicate files, clean and easy transfers across every os platform.
I may be preaching to the choir but come on people spread the word! Digg us, email friends, pass notes in class, stick a sign on your cubicle, paint it on your cat (it is early damnit and I am not feeling creative), just do something to spread the word!
