OurTunes Awareness Day?

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

I have been kicking around the idea of an OurTunes awareness day for some time now. Something to spread the word about what we are trying to do here on various campuses. I have a few mildly offensive/funny t-shirt ideas in mind that could help spread the word.

However, I want input on this.  Should we wait to do this until the software is in beta form? Is this a dumb idea? Would *you* like to help spread the word on your campus?

Our facebook group is growing! Join it. For that matter join our forum and talk about music, the RIAA/MPAA and boycotting them and whatever the hell else you want to.

Officially Official

Monday, March 19th, 2007

Last night we officially finished merging with the original OurTunes group. That means this is no fork or branch of the software but now the main trunk. Not only that but we are getting help of TruthMaker, one of the original developers, as he has time! Now, no pressure on him but I made the suggestion that all some of you may be fed up with my particular writing style and offered him a place to write about this project when he has the time.

Just so you guys get a different perspective on this project.

Moving along. I am gonna take a crack at redoing the current (old) home of ourtunes over at http://ourtunes.sourceforge.net and updating the content. Feel free to contact me if you wanna give me a hand.

The project is also in need of people well versed in assembly. Contact us at saveourtunes {at} gmail {dot} com if you want to help.

One way to help spread the word is to digg us. Here is my digg profile so, should you feel like it, you can add me as a friend and keep track of what I digg when I digg it. *ahem* like stories about ourtunes and saving it.

Five Days Late

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

It seems that I have been neglecting my duty in updating the site. Shame on me.

A few days ago (just about 5 come to think of it) I was contacted by one of the original developers of MyTunes. Karl offered to give us a hand and we gladly accepted it!

This is what comes of people, much like you, spreading the word about our project.

Ok guys, you know the drill. Keep spreading the word!  Join our Facebook group, email a friend, Digg us!
